WOMEN, WINE & WILD GAME

GOING BEYOND THE BIRD

Our Women, Wine & Wild Game events gather women that are interested in sustainable food sourcing, hunting, or who otherwise have an affinity for the outdoors. The events demonstrate the connections between land stewardship and opportunities to hunt wild game, while also fostering a greater understanding of the Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever mission. These events have been used to kick-off Women on the Wing chapters or to engage more women in the organization.

HABITAT AND CONSERVATION

Northern California’s diverse ecosystems, spanning coastal regions, grasslands, and forests, are home to a variety of wildlife, including pheasants, quail, and other upland game birds. Protecting and restoring these areas is essential for sustaining wildlife populations. Healthy habitats provide critical resources for birds, such as food, nesting areas, water, and refuge. Pheasants Forever is dedicated to safeguarding essential habitats for upland wildlife while making these areas accessible for public recreation, including hunting.

CONSERVATION AND EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH

As part of Pheasants Forever's "Call of the Uplands" initiative, which aims to conserve 9 million acres of North America's upland habitats, the organization promotes a deep understanding of the vital role these ecosystems play in supporting pheasants and diverse wildlife. Through educational programs for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, Pheasants Forever raises awareness about habitat loss and sustainable land management practices, empowering hunters to act as stewards of the land.

Community events and hands-on initiatives inspire a strong conservation ethic, ensuring that future generations can enjoy biodiverse hunting lands open for outdoor recreation. Pheasants Forever is committed to fostering a lasting connection to conservation and outdoor heritage by engaging women, youth, family and friends in hunting and shooting sports, passing on a land ethic to the next generation.
