Pheasant Hunt & Lunch with Ray Beyda

Join us for an exciting pheasant hunt led by renowned hunter Ray Beyda, record-holder for the most pheasants harvested in a season, along with his skilled retriever, Bebe.

This event is designed for hunters of all levels of hunting experience. Non-hunters are welcome to attend our Upland Field Education Program which includes a field pass offering a fun and educational day in the field.

Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026

Location: Birds Landing Hunting Preserve, 2099 Collinsville Rd, Birds Landing, CA 94512

Schedule:

● 7:00 AM: Check-in, registration, and field pass (bring valid California hunting license with upland stamp)

● 7:30 AM: Orientation and safety review

● 7:45 AM: Head to assigned hunting fields

● 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Pheasant hunt with Ray Beyda and volunteer dog handlers or bring your well trained gun dog.

● 12:00 – 1:00 PM: Casual lunch and recap; pick up harvested, cleaned pheasants

Included:

● 3 planted pheasants per hunter

● Pick up harvested, cleaned birds. Bird cleaning is available for $6.50 per bird

● Dog handler and retrieving dog

●  Option to bring your own trained upland dog

● Lunch

Gun Dog First Aid Lecture- Post Lunch Demostration

Presented by: Mollie Powell, DVM

For: Hunters, Handlers and Gun Dog owners

Time: Lecture: 1:00-3:00 PM

Demo, discussion of First Aid kit items 3:00-4:00 PM

Join veterinarian and hunter Mollie Powell, DVM, for a practical First Aid for Gundogs seminar. Drawing on her emergency and general practice experience, she’ll cover basic first aid, emergencies, field preparedness, preventative care, and what to include in your canine first aid kit. The lecture includes a presentation and hands-on practice in wound care.

Tickets: Member price: $20.00,

Non-Member price: $65.00 includes annual Pheasants Forever membership and magazine subscription. 

Whether you're new to the sport or just looking to improve, our Women’s Adult Learn to Shoot events offer instruction from experienced coaches, with a focus on safety, confidence-building, and hands-on practice.

Date: Saturday, April 25th, 2026

Location: Martinez Gun Club

Time: 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM

What's Included:

25 Clays, morning pastries, coffee, and lunch.

(Shotguns for use will be available; you are welcome to bring your own)

Shooters can purchase additional clays from the Martinez Gun Club

Learn the fundamentals of shotgun shooting at one of California's premier ranges under the guidance of world-renowned shooter and sporting clays instructor, Blake Fahmie.

Please join Pheasants Forever for our annual Wine and Wild Game Luncheon and Silent Auction. This special  event will feature a reception with delicious hors d’oeuvres, and a three-course luncheon paired with local Sonoma and Napa wines.

The luncheon will be held at the prestigious Wings and Barrel Ranch, located in Sonoma, California. The menu, inspired by Chef Charlie Palmer, will be prepared by Resident Chef Jim Cutler and his team. Chef Cutler’s culinary style showcases bold, refined flavors that highlight seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the essence of the wine country and his dedication to sustainable hunting and field-to-table cuisine.

The Silent Auction will feature an exciting selection of items, including hunting trips in the U.S. and abroad — dove hunting, fishing, sporting excursions, an African safari, wine experiences, Caribbean vacations, and more. Additional auction items may include guided pheasant hunts, bird-dog training, wine tasting packages, sporting events, outdoor adventures, and other exclusive offerings.

All proceeds support our women's, youth, and veterans’ events, as well as our pollinator habitat education programs.

Wing & Barrel Ranch, Luncheon and Silent Auction - MAY 3, 2026

This project is to create an understanding of the importance of Pollinator Habitat in the propagation of the Pheasant and Quail population

What to expect:

Morning classroom introductions on local habitats, pollinators, and the connections between plants, insects, and birds.

Discussion on seed and plant propagation, pollinator-friendly, bird-bees and butterfly inter-dependence.

Guided outdoor exploration: collect data on pollinator activity, identify local plant species, and observe wildlife in restored or protected habitats.

Hands-on activities: Plant Milkweed in individual pots, nurturing the growth process.

Women’s Pheasant Hunt & Lunch at Wing & Barrel Ranch

Join us for a Women’s Upland Hunt and lunch at Wing & Barrel Ranch. This event is designed for hunters of all levels of hunting experience. Non-hunters are welcome to attend our Upland Field Education Program which includes a field pass offering a fun and educational day in the field.

Location: Wing & Barrel Ranch, Sonoma, CA

Schedule:

● 8:00 – 8:30 AM: Check-in, present hunting license with upland stamp, receive field pass

● 8:30 – 8:45 AM: Safety briefing and head to assigned fields

●  9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Pheasant hunt with volunteer guides are available for those without experienced hunting dogs

●  12:30 – 2:00 PM: Lunch with iced tea, water, and coffee (additional beverages not included)

Included:

●  3 planted pheasants per hunter

●  Lunch

●  Volunteer guides with Gundogs

Requirements:

●  Non-lead ammunition (per California law)

●  Eye and ear protection

●   Blaze orange clothing (vest, jacket, or hat)

Ticket Price: $160 per hunter

Safari Club InternationAL (SCI) COCKTAIL MIXER

SCI Wine Country Chapter, has graciously extended an invitation to those attending our Pheasant Hunt and Lunch, to join their event for hosted cocktails from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

No additional charges incurred to attend the SCI event.
